With a background in computer science and business, Sathish Bala founded New Age Inc. and with great success NewAge Inc. was chosen as one of profit magazine's hot 50 emerging growth companies, and Canadian Tamil Chamber of Commerce named Sathish, 2004 young Entrepreneur of the year.
After 13 years, NewAge inc. has now re-branded itself to become Blueband Media. Sathish's passion for strategy and problem solving mixed with the love for the internet, drove him to continue pushing forward extraordinary ideas that propel client brands. This motivation alongside his passion for music has birthed desiFEST, which has provided a national platform for the South Asian artists across Canada, for the past four years. His continued success, in both the marketing field and music world, proves the success of a true visionary.
Vendor Manager
The most well-known and most respected name in the South Asian Community has to be that of Kamdarji. No south asian event is complete without his robust and energetic presence. His ability to bring various mouth tasting food vendors and market space placement is remarkable. The visitor who attended the festival, enjoys shopping and eating foods, enjoys the festival to it's fullest potential.
Kamdar is so popular among all the age groups due to his wise and humour, and is an asset to desiFEST.
Sponsorship Director
Vijay is a Toronto based political and community activist. Vijay manages all sponsorship and political affairs for desiFEST. Vijay is one of the founders and active current board members of UMA Foundation, united Tamil council of Canada, South Asian Professional Network for Awareness and Rural; Empowerment Program. He also sits on the Ontario Pharmacy Council Board. He has been on the boards of many organizations in the area of business, professional, health, Charitable and Political as well as the founding chair of Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and co-Founder of Asha for Education, Canada. Vijay brings a lot of passion and excitement to desiFEST in an attempt to promote and integrate South Asian Canadian arts and Artists. Vijay holds a Bachelors in Pharmacy and a Post Grad in Marketing and works for a major Pharmaceutical company.
Project Manager
Michelle's attention to details and thoroughness ensures that ALL (and trust us, there are TONS of tasks) the tasks are done on time and within budget. She generally keeps the daily client engagement and team interactions as FUN, EXCITING and ON SCHEDULE.
Artist Manager
As a senior member of the team, Dhurga helps,where needed whether it is paperwork, research, artist management,on-site coordination or getting water for backstage, no task is too little or too big. Her contribution each year, ensures we as a team continue to deliver the best concert entertainment possible each year.
Vice President
As an integral part of the team, Kala wears many hats. From marketing, strategy, project management, artist selection, to on-site help and sponsor management, Kala does it all. Her hard work, attention to details and care for the South Asian community across Canada has played a vital role in building desiFEST over the past four years.
Artist Manager
Mandy has most challenging task each year; ensuring that the artists and backstage is managed properly each year! This is not an easy task with over 100 artists and 40,000 fans, but somehow she makes it seems so simple and fun.
Associate Artist Manager
Started with being a volunteer and now part of the team, Piyush has shown great interest enthusiasm in contributing to the desiFEST team. Piyush helps and supports senior members of the team, whether it's with artist management or helping out the team backstage.
Junior Project Manager
A new member added to the team.Ganesh helps in blending Project Management skills and application with Event Planning. Making sure all the activities are met on time to achieve the milestone.
