Danish Punjabi Singer/Dancer, Anita Lerche embodies the encounter of the east with the west.Anita started singing at the age of 7, at 13 she joined Denmark radio’s girl chorus, at 15 she started singing professionally in a church chorus.She can sing and perform in 16 languages. Anita has toured with Jazzy B and performed with Balvinder Safri of Safri Boys. Anita has received a Punjabi Music Award in 2007 for the Best NRI Female Debut from the Punjabi music channel MHI. Won world track of the year at Danish World Awards in 2009.Anita is the first non-Asian woman from the west to sing and release a solo album in Punjabi titled “Heer from Denmark” was inspired by the legend of Heer-Ranjha in November 2006.In 2007, she created a Hindi song for the Indian Cricket team during the World Cup 2007
